Marriage is not just a relationship between a man and a woman. It is a divine institution, a covenant, an altar, and a prophetic picture of God’s Kingdom.
Satan’s war against marriage began in Eden and continues today because he understands something many people do not.
1. Marriage Reflects God’s Covenant Relationship
Ephesians 5:31-32
“This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.”
Marriage is a picture of Christ and His Church. Satan hates anything that reveals God’s love, faithfulness, and covenant.
Why he attacks:
* To distort the image of Christ and the Church.
* To destroy covenant faithfulness.
* To replace love with division and bitterness.
2. Marriage Was the First Institution Established by God
Genesis 2:24
“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife.”
Marriage was established before:
* Government.
* Business.
* Civilizations.
* The church.
Why he attacks:
If he can destroy the family, he can weaken society, churches, and nations.
3. Marriage Produces Godly Generations
Malachi 2:15
“And did not he make one?… that he might seek a godly seed.”
God designed marriage to produce children who know and serve Him.
Why he attacks:
* To corrupt future generations.
* To introduce brokenness into families.
* To stop the raising of godly children.
4. Marriage Creates Unity and Power
Genesis 2:24
“They shall be one flesh.”
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
“Two are better than one.”
There is tremendous spiritual power in unity.
Why he attacks:
* To create division.
* To stop agreement in prayer.
* To destroy teamwork and partnership.
5. Marriage Is a Kingdom of Dominion
Genesis 1:27-28
“Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it.”
God gave Adam and Eve a joint mandate to rule and exercise dominion.
Why he attacks:
A united husband and wife can become a powerful force for God’s Kingdom.
